About Me

Born and raised in Fort Worth, John is a native Texan who moved to Austin in the summer of 2000.  His wife’s name is Katie and they have a son named Trey who was born in November 2007.  John met Katie at Texas Christian University in 1996 and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Marketing from the Neeley School of Business.  They got married in October of 1999 and then started a company in early 2000 which brought them to Austin, where John was the co-founder and CFO of an internet-based golf business.

In the summer of 2001 John entered into the real estate finance industry and began his career originating residential mortgages. To date John’s personal and branch office production has surpassed 1,000 loans totalling over $250 Million in volume.  He built his business primarily through referrals from real estate agents, past clients, friends and family and also referral sources such as members from his BNI networking group and CEO Network.  John is an active member and past President of the Referral Exchange Network chapter of BNI in downtown Austin.

John’s commitment to providing great customer service, competitive loan programs and rates, and on-time closings has helped his business grow, even in uncertain financial times.   Although the mortgage industry has recently faced its toughest test in decades, John and the United Lending team remain committed to providing the quality of service that homeowners and homebuyers deserve during the mortgage process.  Interest rates are amazing and great loans are available for those borrowers who have managed their finances well in recent years.

Prior to joining the United Lending Team, John was a managing member of Level Funding, LLC, a company rated in the Austin Business Journals’ Top 20 Mortgage Companies in Central Texas.  Prior to 2007 he managed the Austin branch for a mortgage company based out of Fort Worth, and most recently was a senior loan officer for Cornerstone Mortgage.

John enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and occasionally heading to Lake Travis for some time on the boat.  Something few people know about John is that he has a 1963 red Convertible Cadillac with only 45,000 original miles, which was given to him as a gift!
